Hello everyone!

Haven't posted anything for a while here, so I thought it's time to share some new pics with you :) After all my summer exams and high season at work I got a chance to go on a vacation to an amazing place, called Cyprus!! I was so excited about going there, you can't imagine! Though I couldn't believe I was REALLY going to Aiya Napa till we got in the plane! hehe

The weather was amazing all 7 days there, we were sunbathing, swimming, visiting karaoke-bars, simply enjoying life (: It's such a great feeling when you don't have to rush, really.
We went to Aiya-Napa with my good friend, Katya, and we had lots of fun together (:

There are two things I am very excited about at the moment: my holiday in my home country and my new Ted Baker dress.

I haven't been home for roughly a year now so I really can't wait to see all my family and to simply be in Canada. I am almost all ready to go despite the fact that we are leaving only Tuesday. My suitcase is mostly all packed and the same for my hand luggage. Bits and bobs and whatnots are still to be added but I am quite proud of myself for not being too "last minute"!

A while ago, I found the cutest name tags on ebay,very retro and colorful! I took pictures of the two we will be using but it actually came as a pack of four. I just don't know where in my suitcase I put the other two, which I am taking with me in case I lose one. After all, we all know how careful luggage handlers are!

A few days ago, I received a package I was waiting for impatiently. My new Ted Baker dress. I decided to wait until we get to Canada before wearing it... to make it even more special! But anyway, here it is:

The lovely Imogen gave me an award in July! She is such an adorable girl and her blog is one of my favorites... so I'm very flattered. Thank you!

The winner must list seven interesting things about themself:

1. I can hardly sit still... I either need to shake my legs or rock the chair in the living room. It kinda annoys Andy when he's trying to watch TV.

2. I worry a lot and very easily and often about silly things.

3.I used to moan about snow all the time... now I miss it. I used to enjoy rain... now I hate it.

4. I mostly only wear dresses and skirts due to the fact I really dislike wearing pants. I find them very uncomfortable.

5. I'm quite an impatient person, especially if I am excited about something.

6. I have always wanted to live somewhere down south but I somehow ended up in England. That simply shows how unpredictable life is!

7. I would have loved being a teenager in the 1950's and a young adult in the 1960's. I simply love those two decades...

Last Saturday we went out for a meal in honour of a member of the family's birthday. To my greatest pleasure, we all decided to eat Italian! I feel I never can go wrong with (vegetarian) Italian food as it is always very tasty. I had a meal called "Melanzane Parmigiana" and it was delicious. It's mainly made of aubergine,tomatoes and cheese. It looks pretty much like a lasagna.

It was the perfect occasion to wear my pretty new dress which I bought in a shop where I almost never go as I don't usually like anything they sell. It's called "Wardrobe" and it's in the little town where I live at the moment. I even found some gorgeous shoes! I think that from now on, I might visit this shop a bit more often... we never know!
It was also a good occasion to wear the beautiful ring my mom gave me a few years ago. It's the first ring my dad bought her in the 1970's, even before they got married! It has a perfect pearl on and I simply love it.

As our trip to Canada is getting closer, we went to Manchester in order to finish buying little presents for my family. It can be a bit tricky as we want each find to be special but also practical to travel! Therefore, we haven't quite found everything... but we still have two and a half weeks.

Of course, now that I know where they are, I had to go to some vintage shops. I saw a lot of pretty things but nothing really took my eye except for a lovely hat. I wasn't looking for one but couldn't resist it when Andrew showed it to me. Luckily, it looked perfect with my outfit so I could wear it right away!

On Sunday, Andrew, his dad and I went to an antique fair near where we live. It was the first time I ever went to one here in the UK. I saw so many beautiful things that I could easily have spent a real fortune in there! Though, I'm one who thinks there's no need to spend a big amount of money on things just for the sake of it... Which is why I always keep my eyes open for some good bargains! I was especially lucky on that day as I bought several items, all antique and vintage.

I really wanted to write something earlier on this week but due to still not feeling very well, I never really had the energy nor the desire. I am still a bit swollen and on top of that, I had a bit of a rash on my cheeks and on the collarbones area... Hopefully (and probably!) it will all get better soon!

Also, as many of you enquired about my vegan brownies, here's a picture of my successful attempt! It was very tasty and easy to cook. I am not vegan as such (don't think I could ever stop eating cheese nor chocolate) but when I cook, I like to use alternative to dairy products as I personally believe it's healthier.

For obvious reason, I didn't really feel like having my photo taken lately so I decided to make a collage of some of my favorite family photos. I miss them a lot as we are all very close. I just can't wait to see them in September!

Today was a typical British day. Yes, you guessed, it was gray, wet, dull and chilly. Therefore, I had to dress accordingly as I met Andrew at a shopping area near his work (overtime!). We decided to start buying little presents for my family in Canada for when we go over in just under a month and a half. I always enjoy doing so!

Tomorrow, I'm going to make some Vegan brownies for the first time... I remember cooking brownies with my grandma when I was a little girl and it always was so much fun! Well, licking the spoon at the end was my favorite part actually. I will let you know how it goes and if I succeed, I will take some pictures.

Here are a few pictures of what I wore today. I feel the need to add that over the last few days, I had an allergic reaction to the medication I was on following a bad pneumonia... Therefore, my entire body was swollen. Despite the fact it's better now, I still look like a sumo fighter!

Countdown to Canada and the quest for the perfect holiday bag

As my trip home to Canada is getting closer, I thought it would be a good idea to start getting ready for it. Despite being a well organized person, I also can be the "last minute" type so I decided not to take any chance! Therefore, Andrew and I hit the road very early this morning to go to The Trafford Centre, a very pretty shopping centre in Manchester. It's a veritable kaleidoscope of colors and themes!

I just realized my outfit today is very similar to the one I wore when I went to Blackpool last month! That skirt is so comfortable and light... perfect for shopping!

I wanted a nice holiday bag to take with me on board as I'm tired of those plain black ones I've been given throughout the years. I first thought I'd buy one from the Cath Kidston's collection but after looking at them, I decided against it. It looked so different there in the shop from what it did on the internet... I was very disappointed. It was totally shapeless and oversized. I was very happy with my decision of looking at it before buying it! We then decided to go for a wander... and some pancakes. Me, the vegetarian, had a mushroom and cheese one while Andrew, the carnivore, picked a chicken, bacon and cheese one. It was so delicious! Nothing better to get over my letdown.

After walking for a little while, I finally saw it. The perfect cute little bag, waterproof, resistant and perfectly sized. I found it in Debenhams, an unexpected place for me.

While we were there, I also bought a new foundation, "Hello Flawless" by Benefit. I've never tried it before but I know I can always trust that brand. Especially with my sensitive skin!

Since I haven't written on here in a little while, I haven't mentioned all the pretty things I bought lately. I'm trying not to spend too much at the moment though since the priority is to save up before my upcoming holiday in my lovely home country. Though, while the sales are on, I decided to buy some new bras and underwear as it's always the best time to buy very good quality ones at very affordable prices!
On that same day, I bought an adorable new purse from Urban Outfitter. It's so feminine and the retro look makes it even more attractive!
That day ended up in a very nice way, by seeing "Ice Age : Dawn of the dinosaures" in 3D, which I truly really enjoyed.

Last week it was my last day in Uni. We finally got our diplomas (yaaaay!!!) after 6 years of studying! Luckily the day was sunny and we had a chance to wear our dresses :)

I didn't wear anything special for this day actually...a classic black dress and black shoes. Also took my mum's jewellery - a necklace, a bracelete and earings :)

1. I've moved so many times in my life that I can barely remember where I've lived and for how long.

2. I always thought I'd end up living somewhere down south... How did I end up in England?

3. I'm a vegetarian. Which is actually crap when you go to someone's place to eat. It always make me feel uncomfortable.

4. I worry a lot and very easily. Which makes me a stressed person. Then again, we live in a stressed world.

5. I'm a bit of a cleaning freak. Well, not just a bit as some people would say. Let's just say I like it when it's tidy.

6. I'm very sarcastic. People very often don't get me and think I'm rude. Though, they're occasionally right.

7. I miss my lovely North America like mad. I love traveling but I now know where I definitely want to be. Home.

8. I'm getting very bad at writing in French... and even speaking it from time to time. That really annoys my mom.

9. I've always wanted to have natural dark hair... why o why am I blond while my sister is very dark?

10. I started figure skating just before I turned 4 and lived for it for years. My favorite activity at weekends was to pretend I was an Olympic Champion... lots of jumping about on tasteless songs in my living room.

Over the last week, my friend Ariella was here, visiting. It was really nice to meet up again after two years! This time we took a lot more pictures... we learned from our mistakes!

One of those days was spent in Blackpool. It's a seaside resort on the North West coast of England. Being from Canada, it was also the first time I went there so it made it even more exciting!

I thought the beach was very beautiful and the sky was breath taking! It reminded me of a beach somewhere in Florida (without the palm trees and very warm weather obviously). The weather was so nice that we walked along the beach our feet in the water.

Hello hello!

Wanted to share with you some pics that I made recently while being in one of the most amazing places in the world - Tallinn! Ahhh I simply fall in love with this city and Estonia in general! Tallinn is such a beautiful city, with its rich history and culture... a perfect place to visit if you want to have some rest from crowds of people, traffic jams, industrialisation.

Many tour agencies here in St-Pete's offer Romantic Weekends in Tallin as special tours for couples :) What can be better than going for a walk in the Old Town of Tallinn in the morning, having a cup of hot coffee with cinnamon (the smell is just incredible!) is some small cafe in the open air, then visiting the main square with millions of small stores, whih will offer you different souveniers that will you definately remind you of this place when you come back...

I have always dreamed about living in a castle full of ghosts when I was a kid :)

Well, haven't seen any ghost (Booo) when in Tallinn, but had a great chance to see and visit many castles and towers... I am still under impression! It's hard to describe, but it is something special - seeing a medieval castle...just imagine, some centures ago people really lived there, were protecting those walls from the enemies...

Hehe and.... now I also know what it's like to be a knight! :P Have a look at Rakvere Castle...and me. lol ---->

My new vintage dress

Last week I received a package... It was my lovely new vintage dress which I bought on Ebay. I simply couldn't wait to receive it and put it on! Typically, the weather wasn't nice enough for me to wear it right away so I had to wait almost a week before being able to show it off! This dress is originally from Miami, Florida so it feels like it brought of bit of my beloved North America... a bit of my home.

A day in Buxton, England

Last Saturday, Andrew and his parents suggested we all go to Buxton, a little old town about an hour away from where we live. You might have heard of it because of the water coming from there.
I wasn't quite sure at first since I've been very unwell lately with a pneumonia and a bad back, but since the weather was fantastic, I decided to go along. After all, there's always somewhere I can sit if I feel too tired, so why miss an opportunity to visit somewhere new? And it was the best opportunity to finally get to wear my lovely H&M dress!
On top of that, I've been stuck at home for over two weeks now and it will be another three before I go back to work so I'm very bored. At least the weather is on my side so I can sit in my backyard and enjoy the sun!

I got a few comments complimenting my white tights on the previous post...(thanks!) It's probably an effect of the light because they're actually silver. Though, on the pictures I'm about to post, I'm wearing white tights. I thought I'd mention it... I don't want to look as if I never change tights! hehe

It's a shame the weather was horrible (I love England!) because I brought with me a lovely summer dress which I didn't get the chance to wear. It was cold, damp and windy... That explains why I'm wearing my warm coat on those pictures too!

Last weekend, Andrew and I went away for the weekend. We went to the lovely and very old town of York. I truly enjoyed its atmosphere. It's one of those place where you feel you're back in time... I was almost feeling like a Princess with my Prince Charming, walking around old and tight little streets where each (almost) building has a history.
Being originally from America, old ruins and castles are not common sights for me. Therefore, they fascinate me.

We did as much as we could while we were there, including the Viking Center, the York Dungeons, Clifford's Tower, York Minster... and the Ghost Tour. That was intriguing. Walking around York late at night with a guide telling us stories of inexplicable things from a long or not so long time ago was fascinating.

I first will start by saying how interesting it was to read about how so many people are also into vampire stories. I say it once more, if you get the chance, read "Salem's Lot". I still haven't finished it but so far, it's the perfect book.

I've always been a big reader. Sometime reading 3-4 books a month, depending on my mood. I simply think it's such an important thing to do...You can learn so much on life by doing so! Nowadays, people are more interested in watching TV or reading tabloids: easy options for a lazy society. Just like fast food. So just like fast-food, if you look a big further, you discover there are so many healthier options! Also... what's better than the smell of a book?

Last weekend was a real glimpse of summer... a very short one though as it's been raining almost everyday since. Except yesterday. Today's not too bad either, but very windy and chilly. When will nice weather finally settle in?
As usual, since it was nice outside, we went out for a walk.

On Thursday, I went shopping during my lunch time to get a little present for a person from work who finished on Friday. As I walked through H&M, I saw a dress. Well, I actually think the dress called me. I simply fell in love with it. Though, as I was a bit on a rush to get back to work, I thought I'd come back the following day to try it on and buy it. Of course, when I went back on Friday, they only had size 12, 14 and 18 left. I was gutted. Fortunately, a very helpful sale assistant gave me the number of the Manchester City Center H&M, which is much bigger. Since I planned on going on Saturday anyway, I thought I'd give it a try. They had only one size left, which was my size so I managed to reserve it until the following day. I don't need to tell you how excited I was (Yeah, I know, it's just a dress but...). I ended up buying it. The style is very 1950's like, which I absolutely love. I just can't wait to get the weather for me to wear it! Anyway, here it is:

Since I was a little girl, I've always been fascinated with Vampires. Not in a creepy way obviously but I've always wanted to know more about them, read more about them and "see" more about them (through movies and TV). "Dracula" by Bram Stoker is one of my favorite books. When Andrew found out about this, he decided to buy me "Salem's Lot" by Stephen King. I've started reading it recently and so far, I love it. I've read a few of Stephen King's books in the past but never was a very big fan of his. This book though, probably because it's one of his early one, it's amazingly well written, fresh and different. Have you read it? If so, what did you think?

When a writer returns to his Maine home town, he discovers that the peaceful hamlet is being overrun by vampires and sets out to curb this ancient evil before it can spread.

Also, last weekend was another sunny one (part of it anyway) so we went for a walk (and for some bread). Everytime it's sunny like this, it reminds me of home and cheers me up. I'm used to so much more sun than we get here in the UK (not that it's hard to beat!).

Haven't made any post for a while, so.... here I am again =))
On April, 7 I have finally passed one of the most important exams and I am simply HaPpY! yay!! Though I still have to prepare a big project and make it's presentation in Uni, but that's in june only. So I still have some time to get ready :)

The weather is getting better and better here (what a surprise,hehe) and spring sun finally makes people change their winter clothes into something lighter :)

This is what I have bought these days. 3 (!!!) pairs of indian earings, violet shoes from New Yorker and blue shoes on a high heel, by Le Monti. I am happy! haha

On Tuesday, we went to Manchester for a bit of shopping. The weather was quite nice, though not very warm. We also went for a nice lunch in town together in China Town, which was great!

Also, the morning, just before we left, I received a package from my parents... a lovely handbag! And my mom really picked it well since it's mustard yellow, just like my shoes! I absolutely love it!

The weather is supposed to be very nice again all weekend. I'll really try to make the most out of it as it doesn't happen very often in the UK. One more reason for me to miss home! hehe

At last, indeed. It's been ages! I'm having a few days off work now so hopefully I'll have more time to post... and to have a life. hehe

I went out with some friends on Saturday night for a meal, which was followed by some karaoke singing at home. We all had a nice time.

We finally had a lovely sunny week in Manchester last week but I was working... and when the weekend came, it was either raining or extremely cold and windy. I also was on a rush, on my way out to dinner when those were taken, so I didn't have time to go outside. It would have been so much better!
I'm wearing a dress I really love, which I bought at Top Shop. I think the classic style of it makes it very easy to wear, anytime. I just got it back recently, after I begged my mom to send it to me from home, in Canada. I can't believe I forgot it there last November. Duh! And I wore my mustard yellow shoes from Target USA as well.

Talking about Canada, I've booked on Saturday our plane tickets to go home for 3 weeks in September! I just CAN'T wait!! Andrew's parents (dad and stepmom) are also coming, what should be so fun!

New camera, new pictures.

I finally got my new camera! My old one is dying slowly... the battery isn't charging much anymore and the colors are nowhere near as good as they used to be. I've used it for almost 6 years now though and took well over 25 000 pictures. I can't believe I took that many! I invested quite a lot of money in it so I'm very happy it did last me so long.
Therefore, I've been looking for a new one for quite a while now and after lots of research work and keeping in mind our budget, I ordered one last week. It's the KODAK EASYSHARE Z1012 IS. I absolutely LOVE it. I received it yesterday. I'm still not accustomed to it so the pictures I take probably aren't as good as they should be, but it will come!

Other than that, the weather was very enjoyable today. Some sun (lots of clouds) and warm enough to leave my jacket at home! We went for a little walk before another hectic week starts all over again. Here's what I wore:

First of all, happy women day to all of you girls!

Not so long ago, I discovered a fantastic skin care brand which I immediately fell in love with. The packaging is fabulous and the quality is even better than I expected. It's "Soap & Glory". Have you ever tried it? I first was attracted by the packaging, which makes me wish I could travel back in time! So I first bought the hand cream and a body spray to see if it would live up to my expectations... and it did. Brilliantly so! So far I bought 2 body sprays (one is also hydrating), a peel off mask for the face, hand cream, body scrubs and a face wash.
There are still quite a few things I want to buy, such as bath foam, body butter and face cream. I'm a bit reluctant about the face cream because my skin is so sensitive... I'm afraid it would either break me out or dry me out. It's been the story of my life so far! Anyway, I will see...

Also, a couple of weeks ago, I finally found the jacket I've been looking for. It's just perfect! I like the color, the style... everything. I haven't really had the chance to wear it due to living in Britain! Cold, rainy... and damp! So I still pretty much so have to wear warmer winter jacket. Anyway, at least I will have it once the weather decides to improve! I probably shouldn't complain about the weather too much though since after talking to my family, I've been told that it's still snowing and pretty cold at home, in Canada. I do miss snow in a way... I find it so much better than rain! Maybe not all the time, but at least for a few months a year.

I've also been shopping with a friend last week and I found some lovely clothes at Zara. I don't usually shop much there because I never seem to find anything... Though, after seeing all the gorgeous stuff they have in there at the moment, I might go back pretty soon! Here's a picture of one cardigan I found... I simply couldn't leave it there! It's so cute and warm.

Hey hey :)

Finally i am ready to make a post! hehe

Been busy these days, studying, studying and...erm.. studying? lol I am so much looking forward to complete studying in University and get a degree! This will hopefully happen in summer! yaaaay! :)

Every friday my friends and i go figureskating for the whole night! A nice tradition, isn't it? :P

It's always a night of laughter and joy :)) Since it rather cold on the ice rink i have decided to buy a warm vest, which you can see on the pic! I found it in a shop called "Romashka" (the name can be translated as "Camomile" in english :) ) Also bought a short green coat from Zara, since it is not very cold outside and i am tired of wearing my long winter overcoat...

Seen a nice swimming suit in a sport shop near my house. Couldn't help buying it! :)

I haven't done much around here lately but I simply feel that it should be something natural that I do when I want to and not when I feel I have to... Though, to be honest, I've been thinking of writing something for over a week at least. I took some pictures last week and all but we keep having problems with our laptops. Yes, both of them at once! Looks like we'll have to get new ones soon!

Last week, we bought some aromatherapy bath salts from the Dead Sea at Boots and I absolutely love it. It has some jasmine oil white roses petals in. The smell is lovely and relaxing and it gives such a romantic look! I really recommend it.

Today Andy and I went for a walk out to get some pictures printed among other things. Though, the weather here being what it is, rainy and nippy, I had to take the pictures inside. I can't wait to actually be able to go out and enjoy a nice warm day. If there's such a thing in England! Here's what I wore:

On our way back, Andy spotted a very nice jacket... and knowing I've been looking for one for what seems to be ages, he showed it to me. I really loved it right away so after trying it on, I bought it! Can't believe I finally found one I like. I can be so fussy! The cut is perfect. I'll take pictures of it later and post them on here.

Good evening,

I simply don't like not to write on here for a long period of time... though this post won't include any new photos. I've been ill with a bad cold for about a week now and had some other little problems so I didn't really feel like being photographed. I suppose we all have times like this.

Lots of interesting happened to me though. The main thing is that I found a long lost friend from Canada on Facebook! It's just fantastic. We've been best friends for years when we were younger until we moved to different places and then lost touch. I've been thinking about her quite a few times during those lost years and I'm so happy that I finally have found her! Things have changed so much in our lives... but strangely, in a very similar way. She also moved to a foreign country and got married there. She now lives in Japan! So now I've got no excuse not to learn Japanese. I've been thinking about learning a third language perfectly (since my Spanish and Italian are quite rubbish now) and was think of either Chinese or Japanese. Well, I found my answer when I found my old friend! hehe I know it's going to be hard but I've always loved challenges! I actually need to have new things to learn to be happy. Anyway, we'll see how it goes!

Also, a couple of weeks ago I bought L'Oreal True Match Minerals foundation and I really love it. It gives me the coverage I want and it does last all day. It's the best foundation I've had so far... I prefer to the Elizabeth Arden one I had just before.

Right, enough blah blah now. I'll go watch "24"! hehe

A flat and a tag

I'm so tired these days that I barely spend any time on my laptop. It seems that all I do is getting up in the morning, going to work, coming back at night and go to bed! I think it will be better when the days start getting longer again. I'm sure most of you feel the same!

I've thought about writing a post about my flat for quite a while now and since I took some pictures of it over the weekend, I decided to finally do it.

I absolutely love our flat. The lighting is gorgeous because of the sky light and also because of the 2 Juliet balcony. It's also very big and in a lovely location. If only I could move this flat with us to Canada! hehe

Anyway, here are some pictures of our living room and dining room.

I have no idea about how to begin this post. Maybe by saying I’m feeling a bit better concerning what happened in my family? I guess that would do.

After this very exhausting week, I was looking forward to having a quiet weekend. Wrong. We’ve been invited by Andy’s dad and stepmom to go to Ashton Market. I wasn’t impressed with it… Just a typical market, selling lots of useless things. Though, we saw there was an IKEA there as well, so of course, we went! We bought a new bookshelf since we really needed one. We were tired of seeing books all over the floor due to our other bookshelf being more than full. We also bought a new lamp for the living room. Oh, and candles. I always buy candles. I will take some pictures of the flat once we’ve sorted it all out tomorrow.

I forgot to bring the camera with me today (typical)… but Andy took some pictures of my outfit once we got back. It was dark and rainy outside so it had to be done indoors, even if it’s nowhere near as nice.

First of all, I need to apologize for once again taking so long to write here. Something tragic happened in my family last Friday, therefore I didn't have the chance and didn't really want to be on my laptop much. I don't feel like explaining what exactly happened because it's still not easy for me to talk about it... I'm sure you'll all understand.

I had some friends over on Friday night, something that was planned ages ago. They arrived right after I got the bad news on the phone from my mom... so it was nice to have something nice to do instead of thinking about it all. We watched movies and ate chocolate (bad... but so good!). I watched "Mamma Mia" with them and I really enjoyed it.

On Saturday, Andy's stepmom and I went shopping to a gorgeous shopping centre in Manchester. I didn't really feel like going due to the mood I was in but Andy told me I should go as it would do me good. I reluctanly went and he was right... I enjoyed myself. The shopping centre is fantastic and so different! It has its own China Town, New Orleans... I definitely will have to go again and take some pictures of it to post on here.

I, of course, bought some clothes. Though, I wasn't really impressed with the sales this year. I found a lot more stuff last year. Unless it's simply because I wasn't in the mood for it!

Anyway, I bought 2 lovely skirts, a gorgeous pair of tights, some bows for my hair and some makeup.

It's officially here now - new, 2009 year! I have again this feeling when you wait so much for some holiday, you prepare lots of things, try to find really special presents, decorations, go shopping and spend lots of time in kitchen making different dishes ...and then you suddenly realise that actually New Years eve with all it's fireworks, christmas trees and presents is over!! well, the holidays can't last forever, i know :) anyway i just hope this year will bring us all only good things, only positive emotions and only true friends will be near us :)

For celebration i didn't wear anything special, just a black dress from H&M, my black shoes and the necklace that Kate presented me while i was in Manchester :)))

My mum made lots of tasty dishes, so that all our men (father, brother and my cousin) were reaaaaally happy, haha =)) you can see how our table looked like with all that food :) I wish i could have my mum's talent in cooking! she's really great :)

First of all, I want to wish a Merry Christmas to you all, happy Рождество to Natalia and a special happy Hanukkah to Karina and Lior.

Yesterday, for work, we decided to wear "Christmassy" clothes... to make it a bit nicer since nobody really wanted to be at work on the 23rd of December. I was still quite ill with a bad cold but fortunately I'm much better today. Therefore, I really enjoyed my day off work! Now, it's off until the 29th! It'll pass by very quickly so I'll do my best to enjoy every moment of it.

Anyway, here are some pictures of what I wore taken in the evening, when I got back from work.

I wore my new So Rouge lipstick by Bourjois. I've been looking for a red lipstick for quite a while but due to me being so white, it's quite hard... so when I saw that one, I wasn't bothered about the price and got it right away! It actually looks a bit more red on the picture than what it really is. It's more like a strawberry red, which suits girls with fair skin and light hair.

A grey sweater was bought in Gloria Jeans shop in a big shopping center! i really like it :) have recently realised that now i really like grey colour,which i couldn't stand before! ))

I feel very "Christmassy" tonight so I thought I'd post something to share my feelings. After all, that's what a blog is for! Seeing the presents under our Christmas tree and the stockings, Christmas movies on TV, Christmas music... but let's not talk about the massive queues there is in shops!!

We went to the Manchester Christmas Market yesterday and despite the rain, we had a lovely time. I love the atmosphere there is around Christmas time. I liked all the little wood cabins and the smell of freshly cooked food. I, of course, enjoyed a cup of mulled wine, which was delicious. Especially in this cold and dull weather!

Though, having it without the snow I'm used to, is not quite the same thing. I like white Christmas... where despite the darkness, the nights are still so clear due to the reflection of the colorful lights on the snow. It's such a nice and cheerful sight! Hopefully, I'll probably be home next year.

This blog has been very quiet lately. I’ve been very busy, that’s the least I can say. Wedding planning, work, trip back home to Canada… and meeting my blog companion Natalia! Yes, we finally met after all these years and it was very nice. Hopefully, from now on I’ll be able to update the blog more often and same for Nat.

The trip to Canada has been fantastic in every way. It was so nice to be back home! Going to America and all. That’s really where I’m from, who I am, so it was a fantastic feeling to be there.

Of course, between sightseeing with Andy, there’s been quite a lot of shopping going on. I also brought back lots of clothes that I had to leave behind when I moved to the UK. I think my favourite item is the pair of shoes that I bought while being in the United States. They’re mustard yellow and I simply couldn’t resist them. I’m annoyed a bit at the fact that I can’t really wear them at the moment due to the bloody rain but I’m hopeful I’ll be able soon!

I’ve also bought quite a few tops (warm) and a dress. I didn’t go crazy with buying stuff though since I knew I had limited space in my luggage!

On top of that, I bought a lovely skirt from H&M on Saturday as well as more tights (I never have enough) and some polka dots knee-length socks. I’ve been looking at this skirt for quite a while now and I finally got it. Couldn’t be happier!

The problem I have now is that I haven’t got enough room to put all my clothes in. I will have to swap wardrobe with Andy because he’s got more space on the top of it than I do. I also will have to put clothes in the spare bedroom’s wardrobes. Haha

Anyway, here are some pictures of what I bought. In a future post, I’ll put some amazing landscapes pictures.

My hen party

I haven't written anything around here in quite a while! I've been very busy at work and sorting everything out for the wedding and our trip...
Yesterday, my friends organized a lovely hen party for me. I really enjoyed it and so did everybody. It was very nice to spend the night out with them. We first went to a wine bar, then to an Italian restaurant and finally to a pub which has a dance floor. As I said before, we all had lots of fun!

For the occasion, I decided to wear my high-waisted skirt from H&M, my mustard yellow top also from H&M, my tights from M&S and my shoes from Dolcis.

Looking for a violet bag was my #1 idea for a loooong long time. and yes, i found it. Well, not in the shop, but in my grandmother's closet :P This bag was a present to my granny, made by my grandfather many many years ago. She has never used it actually, maybe once to go to a theatre... and now presented it to me, since she knows how much violet-addicted i am!

Yesterday, we went out for a walk since it was a lovely October day. This probably was the last day for a while that I could go out without wearing a jacket of some sort, so I made the most out of it!

What a nice day today. My dad's brithday today, my parents' friends have alredy come, and they all are sitting in our dining room talking and laughing :) so nice. i like it so much when my parents are like this, so funny and talkative!
And i have some time free to write on our blog :)
Yesterday we went to Finland, Lappeenranta with my friend Karina and her friend Yuliya! A short shop-tour was really good, though we didn't have much time there and the weather was really terrible!
The center of the city is a small shopping world there :) Big markets, numerous shops...clothes everywhere! yay! we spent most of the time in H&M, which is a really huge store there! sooo many nice things! i've finally bought a coat which i have always wanted to have. It's rather classic, black, but i like it, as it can be worn with almost everything! i need to buy some bright scarf i think, will do it this week! ;)
Today for my daddy's birthday i am wearing a grey dress (don't know how to call it correctly.lol) with a butterfly print on it and black short trousers!

Autumn here and there

Today, as planned, we went to Manchester. We took my boyfriend's nephew to town to show him a comic book shop. Well, to be honest, Andy took him there while I went shopping for a bit. I didn't really enjoy it though, as it was way too busy. It can only get worse the closer we get to Christmas I suppose. I still bought a few things for myself (mainly tights), a few Christmas decorations (couldn't resist) and a few things for Andy (I like spoiling him). Here's what I wore today:

I do like those autumn days when it's not raining but is kinda foggy... It gives everything a mysterious side. I really miss the colors of my Canadian trees though. Over there, at home, autumn is fantastic, whereas here it's mostly damp and wet. I miss the way the sun shines in this time of the year... In a very warm tone, reflecting itself on the very flamboyant leaves. I miss the smell of the apple trees after the rain, when we go apple picking. I miss the morning mist, slowly disappearing, letting those vivid shades taking over. All those little and simple things that we don't always notice until we don't have them anymore. It's probably why I don't "feel" autumn the same way I normally do when I'm in Canada. I suppose that after not having any summer, I can survive not having any autumn! Anyway, here's how Canada look in October:

Tonight it one of those evenings during which I want to do a million things at the same time as not wanting to do anything. I hate those! My boyfriend is writing (yep, he's a comedy writer and I can objectively admit that he's talented) and there's nothing I really want to watch on TV.
To be honest though, it's been a very long week at work and I feel like just sitting doing nothing is enough. The good thing is that I've only got one more week to work, then I'm off work for one full month. Such a great feeling.

I've decided to take pictures of some of my jewelleries, since I knew that working on my blog will make my evening more useful. Especially since I haven't written anything in quite a few days!

Anyway, here it is:

I might take some pictures tomorrow since we're going to Manchester again. We are taking my boyfriend's nephew as a treat for his 8th birthday, which is next weekend. Obviously, while they'll be doing some "boys" stuff, I'll do a bit of shopping. It's supposed to rain though... Ah, lovely Britain.

Unexpected sunshine

In opposite to yesterday, today was rather nice. A nice and fresh sunny day. Andrew and I decided to walk to a nearby (about 20mn)hardware store to try and find a draft excluder and a hook to put behind our bedroom door. It was a very pleasant walk.
I wore a jacket and a dress which I bought at Primark earlier this year. It was the first time I actually wore the dress because the material is very warm. I bought the hat at Accessorize and the shoes (Josef Siebel brand) are from Canada ( I can't actually remember the name of the shop).

Tomorrow is Monday, which means getting back into my work clothes. Rather boring since we can't really wear what we want... Though, I suppose it makes it even nicer to wear nice clothes during the weekend!

A new dress is finally bought! I couldn't imagine how difficut it would be to find a nice dress for one very special event! ;)
The dress i bought looks rather classy, is black&white and is not very long! reminds me 60-s style actually, wich i really adore! I have already planned what i am going to wear it with - a pearl necklace, a black fillet on my hair, black patent leather shoes. Haven't found a small bag yet though! but i have enough time to do that, hehe

Looking out of the window this morning, I knew I'd have to wrap myself up in very warm clothes before setting a foot outside. Dull and cold. Typical British weather. On the other hand, I was quite happy to get to wear my (thick) winter coat, which I bought in January at Top Shop. I also wore the warm boots I bought at Clarks, also in January, the lovely gloves Karina (from Norway) sent me for my birthday last year, and one of my hats, which I bought at H&M.

While we were out, we went into a book shop and I saw a very nice diary for 2009. And it has... Polka dots! I couldn't resist so I bought it. It's just the perfect size to fit in my bag.

Today, I received my new handbag, which I ordered on E-Bay. It's quite an unusual color and style but I fell in love with it when I saw it. The color is very nice and I like having things that not everybody else has. I feel I've received it just on time for Autumn... To me October has always been the heart of autumn, so to receive this bag on the first day of October, makes it even nicer! Anyway, here it is:

I bought the October issue of Vogue last Thursday and I've seen so many things I like in there. I know I can't afford most of those things but it's perfect to get new ideas of how to combine clothes and such. I'm sometimes stuck in the morning, not knowing what to wear and it's awful. In the issue they also joined a little magazine about NEXT Fashion for fall/winter. It's a lot more affordable and some things in there are very nice.
Anyway, Vogue is always a fantastic magazine and this time is no exception! Go get it. ;)

Good evening!

As I said in my previous post, I went shopping on Saturday. I bought lots of things in order to get ready for winter. Bought some tights (I still want more), knee socks, a very long scarf and a very nice pashmina. On the picture, we can't really see the details that are on the tights though, which is a shame.

I also bought a mustard yellow top, which I intend to eventually combine with my high-waisted skirt.

Then, we went to Boots and they had this very great offer on No7 products so I got myself some foundation, pressed powder, mascara and eyes shadow.

Last weekend me and my friends spent time in an amazing country - Finland :)
It's capital, Helsinki, is a nice place to visit just to walk round the city,do some sightseeing while walking along small streets or just relax in small cafes that would offer you those great sweet cakes... mmmm :)
Unfortunately we didn't have much time to shop there, but the Shopping Centers are really big there, what is really good, right?! :P
So, if you get a chance, go there! it's really worth it! lots of famous trends and the prices are not too high! Numerous discount stickers like "-50%" are almost on every door ;)
What i like most of all, there are lots of violet things!!!! i couldn't believe my eyes, violet shoes, violet sweaters...next time nothing will stop me from buying it all! hehe

A sunny day walk

Today, my boyfriend and I decided to go out for a walk. The weather was so nice that we couldn't possibly stay inside. People living in the UK will understand that sunny days are way too rare not to make the most out of them.

I wore a purple dress which I bought at H&M, a white belt from H&M as well, white tights (so hard to find) from Primark (that's the only place I could find any) and shoes from Yellow in Canada. It was perfect for the weather: sunny but not very warm. Andy wore his lovely new shirt from Primark (can't beat a good Primark bargain) and his jeans from Burtons. Looking good as usual! ;)

Yesterday, we went shopping in Manchester. The main reason for us to go was that we needed to go to Parcel Force, but we decided to stay in town to do a bit of shopping as well. We needed to get a new duvet and pillows because we'll have people staying over in a couple of weeks. Though, of course, we didn't stop there. We also bought clothes. I will take pictures of it and post them tomorrow.

This new Shopping Centre just opened, near my work... and there's a H&M, Top Shop, Next, River Island... Great, just great. The only bad thing is that I might be going a bit too often! Anyway, I went to H&M today after work and saw some very nice cardigans a t-shirts... I think it won't be very long before I go back and buy them! I've also seen lovely tights, thick ones, just like I need for the damp and cold winter here. They have very nice colors as well. I like wearing colors during autumn/falls, makes me feel better and less tired.

So many colours, so many colour shades! which one to chose? :)
My favourites are black and violet!
Black - always looks classic, strong and mysterious for me! it can be used in a combination with any other colour from the spectrum. It is always fashionable!
Violet colour is my love :P

A shopping day in Wigan.

On Saturday, my boyfriend and I went shopping in Wigan. I do prefer Manchester but sometimes I can't be bothered having to get a bus and a train... not even for shopping. (I did say "sometimes"...)

Anyway, I was wearing a dress I really love and which is extremely comfortable. Perfect for shopping: comfy and stylish. It's by Orion and for Top Shop. I bought it last winter.
I've decided to wear my tartan hair band, which, I think, added a touch of "elegance" to the outfit. I bought it at Dorothy Perkins.

I bought a lovely skirt at H&M. It's high-waisted and has some lace at the bottom. I've also bought some shoes for my big day, 2 bracelets, a nice white top (at Primark!!) and a very nice cardigan at Next. So, it was a very good day! I will post some pictures of what I bought a bit later.

What is fashion? a difficult question, isn't it? ;) lot's of definitions, but i like this one most of all:
“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.” (Coco Chanel)

Hello, I'm Catherine. Just thought I'd start this blog by introducing what it'll be about. Natalia and I have been talking about having a blog together for quite a long time so we finally decided to throw ourselves in! It'll mostly be about fashion but could be about anything as well... I personally thought it'd be interesting to compare fashion from the Uk & Canada (Where I'm from) with fashion from Russia (where Natalia is from). While fashion is international, I also think that each culture brings a little something unique and different. It should be very interesting and I hope we'll have lots of fun doing it.
